Our Mission
God Behind Bars is a ministry dedicated to bringing the love, hope, and transformative power of Jesus Christ to those who are incarcerated. Founded on the belief that no one is beyond redemption, this ministry reaches behind prison walls to restore lives, rebuild families, and renew futures. Every person, no matter their past, is created in the image of God and deserves the opportunity to hear the gospel and experience genuine community. Church Inside Prison Walls
At the heart of the ministry is a desire to create meaningful spiritual environments within prisons. Through partnerships with local churches, God Behind Bars launches church campuses directly inside correctional facilities. These are not just occasional services—they are fully integrated worship experiences where inmates participate in weekly messages, live or video-led sermons, small groups, worship, and discipleship. These gatherings serve as places of healing and hope, where individuals can build relationships with God and others in a safe, consistent environment.
Digital Ministry That Reaches 24/7
In addition to physical gatherings, the ministry has developed digital outreach tools designed specifically for prison populations. Through a secure app, inmates can access gospel-centered content including messages, worship music, devotionals, and testimonies. This gives men and women the chance to grow in their faith every day, even when access to in-person gatherings may be limited. These resources are designed to encourage, equip, and remind inmates that they are not forgotten—that God is with them, and a new life is possible.
Restoring Families
God Behind Bars also works to restore broken family relationships. Incarceration impacts more than just the individual—it often creates distance and pain within families. To address this, the ministry hosts events that allow inmates and their families to reconnect through meaningful experiences. These events often include shared meals, family activities, gifts for children, and intentional spaces for reconciliation. Support After Release
Support doesn’t end when inmates are released. Reentry into society can be overwhelming, and without help, many fall back into old patterns. God Behind Bars offers post-release support to help with the transition. This includes mentorship, job training resources, spiritual guidance, and community connection. The goal is not just to help someone survive after prison, but to truly thrive—spiritually, emotionally, and practically.
